FOUR PILLARS OF MAKE IN INDIA

The “Make in India” initiative is based on four pillars, which have been identified to give boost to entrepreneurship in India, not only in manufacturing but also other sectors.

1. New Process:

‘Make in India’ recognizes ‘ease of doing business’ as the single most important factor to promote entrepreneurship. A number of initiatives have already been undertaken to ease business environment. The aim is to de-license and de-regulate the industry during the entire life cycle of a business. In brief, it means to start up a business, new process or innovations have to find out for success of the business in the Indian economy.

2. New Infrastructure:

Availability of modern and facilitating infrastructure is a very important requirement for the growth of industry. Government intends to develop industrial and smart cities to provide infrastructure based on state-of-the-art technology with modern high-speed communication. Existing infrastructure to be strengthen  through up gradation of infrastructure in industrial clusters. Innovation and research activities are supported through fast paced registration system and accordingly infrastructure of Intellectual Property Rights registration set-up has been upgraded. The requirement of skills for industry are to be identified and accordingly development of workforce to be taken up. Infrastructure is one of the two supportive pillars of the Make in India project. With proper infrastructure in place, the companies would start producing globally-competitive products in India itself. The global supply-chains would move to India. India have to give more focus on MSME as they can provide reasonable goods at good price without sacrificing any quality or within the own country.

3. New Sectors:

The government of India has observed 25 priority sectors that shall be emphasized adequately. These are the sectors where the possibility of FDI (foreign direct investment) is the highest, and the government of India shall announce the acquisition. These includes many sectors like Automobiles, Aviation, Railway, Mining, Food Processing, Construction, Defence, Electronics Systems etc. which required more focus as per Make in India Logo.

4. New Mind-set:

Industry is habitual now to see Government as a regulator. ‘Make in India’ intends to change this by bringing a paradigm shift in how Government interacts with industry. The Government will partner industry in economic development of the country. The approach will be that of a facilitator and not regulator.
