What Causes Depression And How To Know About Your Mental Health?

Now a days, depression is commonly find among people. Depression is a disease related to our mind. It’s like a conflict that creates instability in our mind and emotions of persons. A person who is suffering from depression, is never able to concentrate in any work. Having a small amount of Stress is a part of our life. But when it becomes excessive; it turns into depression and has a negative effect on our life.

CAUSES OF DEPRESSION

 There are many causes of depression. Some of these are explained below:-

  • MAJOR CHANGE IN LIFE:- Due to any major change in life like an accident, any major change or conflict in life, loss of a family member or loved one, financial problem or any such serious changes
  • CHANGE IN HARMONES: – Due to changes in hormones such as menopause, childbirth, thyroid problems etc.
  • IMBALANCE OF NEUROTRANSMITTERS: – Our brain contains neurotransmitters that affect feelings of happiness and pleasure, especially serotonin, dopamine or Norepinephrine, but these can be imbalanced in the event of depression. Their imbalance can cause depression in a person, but why they get out of balance is not yet known
  • CHANGE IN WEATHER: – Sometimes depression also arises due to change in weather. Many people feel tired, and bored in everyday activities in winter when the days are short or there is no sunlight. But this condition gets better after the end of winters.

SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION

Followings are the symptoms of depression:-

  • A person suffering from depression is always depressed.
  • A person always feels himself confused or defeated.
  • A person loses self-confidence when he/she suffering from depression.
  • Depression patient always likes to be alone and tries to avoid their family, friends, crowded places.
  • Patient of depression always talks very little and becomes irritable.
  • They find them incapable of taking decisions.
  • They attached to unhealthy foods.
  • They always Seems restless and in anxiety.
  • The person remains depressed even in the atmosphere of happiness.
  • Patients of depression gets frustrated very quickly when they faced any problem in life , even in small problems they get frustrated and irritated.
  • The problem of excessive anger is also seems in patients of depression.

PREVENTIONS OF DEPRESSION

  • You can listen to some sweet music to stay away from depression. But do not listen sad songs, only listen some happy songs so that depression can be reduce from the mind.
  • Everyone have some hobbies that makes them happy like travelling, crafts, writing, singing etc. So when you feel stress, do your favourite hobby and you will feel relax.
  • To avoid depression, people should make a habit of sleeping and waking up early. Do not look at laptop
    and mobile before sleeping as it can cause stress.
  • To keep depression away, a person should do daily morning walk, exercise and yoga. Due to this, the person’s health will good and the mind will remain calm.
  • You can calm your mind by reading some of your religious books and listening to hymns. It helps you to stay away from stress, anxiety.
  • Reduce the intake of caffeine i.e. tea, coffee. Quit the habit of alcohol and smoking, as all these promote depression.
