CYBER CRIME

The crime which is done through internet and computers is called cyber crime. Unlawful actions against any persons using a computer system that harms to person physically, economically or mentally, then such crime is called cyber-crime.

TYPES OF CYBER CRIME

  1. HACKING: – In this type of cybercrime, the criminal uses different-different software to enter a person’s computer to obtain personal and sensitive data of that person. And the victim is unaware about that their data is hacked by criminal. Some hackers are expert in cracking password. They hack ATM, credit card details and used for their own purposes.
  2. CYBERSTALKING: – In this type of cyber-crime, online harassment is done in which victim is harassed through online messages and mails. Generally in cyber stalking, stalkers know the victims and when they see cyber stalking is not having the desired result, they use offline mode also to harassed victim.
  3. PHISHING: – Phishing is a crime in which the user is deceived by sending fraudulent mail and trying to steal his personal information. In this, messages like offer, reward, and lottery are sent so that the user gets persuaded and submits his bank details, address and other types of details.
  4. CHILD PORNOGRAPHY: –It is also a type of cyber-crime in which criminals engage minors through chat rooms for the purpose of child pornography. Online child pornography can be classified as the most heinous form of cyber-crime in India, threatening the security of the future generation.
  5. SPREADING VIRUS: –Cybercriminals make some software and send them to your computer, in which viruses are hidden. These include viruses like worm, logic horse, etc. These viruses cause havoc by spreading from one computer to another and from second to third computer.
  6. DDOS ATTACK: – Its stand for Distributed Denial of Service Attack. The main purpose of criminal is to stop the application, website so that user cannot access their website. Criminals are used to make the online service unavailable and bring down the site by bringing in traffic from various sources.

The cases of cyber-crime are increasing day by day. So it’s important to know about how you can avoid cyber-crime and you can complaint about cyber-crime:-

  • Always install anti-virus software in your software to protect from spreading viruses.

  • You can report to cybercrime cell, if anyone creates your fake profile and carries out illegal activities.
